The Betacraft ISO940 fabric is made from recycled plastic (PET) bottles. Approximately 25 bottles are used in each garments fabric. The ripstop nylon outer fabric is made from recycled nylon yarns. These yarns are made from discarded fishing nets, unwanted clothes and excess yarns from unwanted bulk production. One kilo of nylon waste yarn produces 800 grams of recycled nylon yarns and approximately 2 kilos of recycled yarn is needed for the nylon ripstop outer fabric for each garment. This fabric is GRS certified. GRS stands for Global Recycled Standard and this standard ensures the traceability of materials and guarantees environmentally friendly production. There is a minimum recycled content of 50% and additional processing requirements that must be met – Social, Environmental and Chemical.
