Rock Fall have developed and designed their boot boxes to be sustainable and as ethically sourced as possible, making sure that their boots are built to last, but their packaging isn't. They are Global Recycling Standard accredited. All the cardboard comes from FSC sources and is printed and glued with non-petroleum based solvents and glues. Ever thought of adding this to your compost and trapping carbon instead of recycling?
The primary goal of the GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce the harmful social, environmental, and chemical impacts of production. The RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) is an international, voluntary standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled input and chain of custody. The RCS certification requires products with a range from 5% to 100% recycled content, whilst GRS certification requires a higher standard - products between 20% and 100% recycled content, a minimum 50% recycled content is eligible of using the GRS logo.
