The trade union congress reports that less than 1 in 3 women are given PPE specifically designed for women. This was reported to hamper effectiveness as the clothing fitted poorly and was therefore more prone to cause accidents such as tripping or getting caught in machinery. For women, shopping for PPE can be quite difficult. This is owing to a lower demand than that of men’s ppe.
