Attention All Rail PPE Users

A bit of technical stuff but something you need to be aware of so as to prevent any confusion or fake information.

The Rail Industry Standards Board (RSSB) published RIS-3279-TOM in December 2016. This will replace GORT3279 Issue 8 as it could not be retained as a National Safety Rule and is therefore reclassified as a Rail Industry Standard.
 
The new Standard incorporates GORT3279 in its entirety and GORT3279 is withdrawn as of 4th March 2017.
 
Q.           What effect does this have on existing Certified Garments?
A.            No effect at all as they were all certified to the current Standard (GORT3279) in place at that time.

So – as you were. In all practicality no change. But the eagle eyed amongst you may start to notice garments without GORT 3279 certification being supplied later in the year. Instead, it will have RIS-3279-TOM in the label. If not then you need to find another supplier.
